Reply speed beats everything else
Someone who messages you is deciding right now. If your first reply lands an hour later, they have already bought from whoever answered first. Set shop hours for replies and stick to them, even if the answer is only "checking, one minute".
Write your four replies once
You answer the same four things every day. Write them properly one time and reuse them, so a busy afternoon does not turn into one-word answers.
- Price, sizes or options, and what is in stock today.
- Delivery cost, delivery time, and which areas you cover.
- How to pay, including cash on delivery if you offer it.
- The confirmation format: name, number, landmark, item.
Ask for the landmark, not the address
Half of the failed deliveries in Kathmandu happen because the address was a house number nobody can find. Ask for a landmark and a phone number in the same message, every single time.
Keep the chat, it is your customer list
The people who already bought from you are the cheapest sales you will ever make. When new stock lands, message the last twenty buyers before you spend a rupee on promotion.
Bad line, good line.
A first reply that says "yes sir available".
"NPR 1,450. Delivery inside Ring Road NPR 100, today if you confirm before 3."
Asking for the address.
Asking for a landmark and a phone number in the same message.
Worked example: a shop losing evening orders
Where an order is won or lost
Answered inside the hour, with the price.
Delivery cost, timing, how to pay.
Name, number, landmark, item, repeated back.
The fastest reply in the chat usually wins the order.
