The one test worth applying
Does the trend let you say something you already wanted to say? If yes, use it. If you have to invent a reason to appear, skip it and film the video you were going to make anyway.
Where trends genuinely help
They work best in the categories where personality is part of the product.
- Cafes, salons, gyms, and shops with recognisable staff.
- Anything where the joke is about your own daily work.
- Sounds, not dances, because sound is faster to use well.
- Local trends, which reach Nepali audiences harder than global ones.
Speed is the entire advantage
A trend is worth using in its first week and worth nothing in its fourth. If your approval process takes five days, trends are not your strategy.
What to build instead
Three or four formats of your own, posted every week, will outperform trend-chasing over a quarter. Use trends as the occasional bonus, never as the plan.
Bad line, good line.
A trending dance used by a hardware shop with no connection to anything.
The same trending sound over a genuine complaint your customers actually make.
A trend video approved five days later, after the trend died.
A trend video filmed and posted within three days, or dropped.
