Followers are a slow, for-show number
Follower count goes up when things work, so it feels like a goal. It is a result, not a lever, and a bought or unrelated following actively hurts your reach.
The four worth tracking
Check these monthly, write them somewhere, and compare against the month before.
- Three-second watch time, which tells you whether the hook works.
- Saves and shares, which show the content was worth keeping.
- Profile visits from a video, which shows intent, not just attention.
- Enquiries you can trace back, which is the only number that pays.
Ask where they heard about you
The most reliable analytics tool in Nepal is a question at the counter or in the first DM reply. Log the answers for a month and you will know which platform to double down on.
Judge months, never posts
Individual videos swing wildly for reasons nobody controls. A single flop means nothing and a single hit means almost as little. The monthly trend is the signal.
Bad line, good line.
"We got 40,000 views this month."
"We got 40,000 views and eleven enquiries. Nine came from one video."
Buying 5,000 followers to look established.
Tracking how many people watch past three seconds on ten posts and fixing the openings.
Worked example: a one-page monthly sheet
What we check on a client account
Did people watch past three seconds.
Did anyone find it worth keeping.
Did the phone actually ring.
If a number cannot change what you film next week, stop looking at it.
Three things you can do now.
We do this every month for clients.
