Most agencies chase TikTok and Reels and treat Facebook as an afterthought, which is a mistake in Nepal specifically. Facebook still carries the broadest and often older local-business audience here, the people already trusting community groups, page reviews, and Messenger over any newer platform. Growing there works differently than TikTok, not just in tone but in mechanics.
Native video is rewarded over shared links
Uploading a video directly to your Facebook Page consistently outperforms sharing a link to the same video hosted elsewhere. Facebook's own algorithm favors content that keeps people inside the app, and a native upload also autoplays in the feed, which a shared link rarely does. If you're repurposing a TikTok or Reel for Facebook, always re-upload the actual file rather than pasting a link.
Longer watch time actually helps here
Unlike TikTok, where a fast cut wins, Facebook rewards videos that hold attention for longer stretches. A 45 to 90 second video with a clear story, a customer's problem, how the product solves it, a demonstration, tends to perform better than a rapid-fire TikTok-style edit dropped in unchanged. This is the single biggest tactical difference from what works for TikTok growth.
Community groups move product
Local Facebook groups, neighborhood buy-and-sell groups, community pages, alumni networks, are still one of the highest-converting channels available to a Nepali small business, often outperforming paid reach entirely. A genuine, non-spammy post in a relevant group (not just a repost of your Page content) tends to get taken seriously if it's posted occasionally and adds real value, not every single day.
Messenger closes what the post starts
A Facebook video's job is to get someone to send a message, not to sell in the caption. Keeping Messenger response times fast, and having a clear, simple next step in every post ("Message us for the size chart," "Comment below and we'll DM you"), matters more on Facebook than almost any other platform, because that's still where a large share of Nepali customers expect to actually complete the conversation before buying.
